Phase 2 - Christmas Advent Calendar

I'm slowly working on the Christmas Advent Calendar.  I am having fun with it, and it is nice to be able to take my time since it is not needed until December 1st.

Covered back and sides with the same printed paper.

I used a white liquid glue to adhere it all.

I wrapped FSJ Candy Apple Satin Ribbon around the 

sides of the box.

I used Scor-Pal Double Sided Tape to adhere it in place.

Next I will work on the individual drawers.   Don't have it completely planned out yet, but I have lots of supplies to work with.

WOW - FSJ Retiring Items Now up to 60% Off - Updated List

We got word late yesterday that a few items had been left off the original retirement list, but were retiring.   So I wanted to get the word out to all of you too.

The following two items we knew about, but I wanted to draw your attention to them.  It is the Journey Girl Signature Tote TO-0084 and the Journey Girl Insert (Green) TO-0104.    The tote is leather.   If you purchase the tote and the liner, it would be less than $60 for the two pieces.   WOW, what a fantastic deal.   $60 for a leather tote is just unheard of.

 

I personally own the tote and liner.   Here are some additional photos that I posted last year when I got mine.

Dimensions: (approximate)
13" high (without handles).
9" from the top of the tote to the top of the handles
14" wide (striped area left to right)
5 1/2" depth (side panel)
6" wide base

It can be used as a tote or as a tote style purse, the choice is yours.   I have seen it used as a laptop bag (would depend on the size of your laptop, of course), craft tote, and a purse.  I think it would be a great travel bag too.   So many options, and a perfect gift item too.  

Here's some important observations about it that I would like to share with you.

1. It's leather, it's soft and much lighter in weight than I expected. It weighs approximately 2 lbs with the liner inside. 

2. The green liner (separate purchase) is a perfect fit for the inside of the bag. The liner actually zaps into place and the top fully zips (love that).

3. Liner has 1 zippered pocket inside and 2 slide in pockets inside. It is a material liner not plastic or leather etc. Liner is flexible because of the fabric.

4. Tote will stand up on its own. Doesn't fall over, doesn't cave in (don't you hate that when you set your purse down and it falls over).

5.  The tote will easily fit over your shoulder.

Now on to some crafting fun ... I made a Thank You Card to share with you today.

This is a NO STAMPING NEEDED Card.   The beautiful floral background is Mystic Romance Prints PP-0047 which is on the retirement list from Fun Stampers Journey.   So many great options in this 12 x 12 inch paper pack.    I wrapped the background with Whip Cream Thread AC-0128 and added a tiny bow.   The Thank You is a die set called Charming Thank You Die Set DI-0445 (Host Exclusive Item).   Added 6 tiny Fashion Silver AC-0293 pieces to accent the card.     The card base is Blue Lagoon Card Stock.

Anniversary Card Using Mystic Romance Prints and Heart You Embossing Folder - Both are Retiring. FSJ Products

The Heart You Embossing Folder (retiring) used with Journey Brush Gold Card Stock just gives this card that extra special look.  Just what I wanted for this special anniversary card.   It doesn't show in the photo, but I did use Sparkle Silk over the card front before attaching the fussy cut rose bouquet.   The roses on the front and inside of the card are from the Mystic Romance Prints Printed Paper.  This printed paper is retiring.   It's one of my all time favorites.   Order quickly if you want this, I'm predicting it will sell out quickly.  

Any time I have a darker card base, I add in an insert of Whip Cream Card Stock.   Perfect for a sentiment or handwritten note.

I had two anniversary cards I wanted to make this last week.   Hearts are a great choice (my opinion) for an anniversary card.   These two were covered in Journey Glaze and while still wet, I added in the Star-fetti stars.   It added texture and sparkle to the card.   When you use Journey Glaze, remember to let your items dry thoroughly.

Can you see the gold sparkle in the Candy Apple Sparkle Ribbon?  It is loaded with specks of gold.  Picks of the light beautifully.   The sentiment is from Bird Melody Stamp Set.  I used the matching die to cut out the sentiment and then fussy cut the shadow piece (black licorice) behind it.

Roll With It Stamp Set On Retirement List - Fun Stampers Journey Products

Girls just want to have fun!!!  AND this card was just plain fun to create.   Using the Roll With It Stamp Set and Project Me Prints Paper just brought this card together for me.   Both the stamp set and the printed paper are on the retirement list so will only be available while supplies last.

I layered the Project Me Prints on Watermelon Fusion Card Stock.   The Roll With It! stamped images were colored in with our Journey Burst Pencils then added to the card with Journey Foam Squares.   I added a lavender Rainbow Burst in the center of each flower and just had to add in little bows on the skates.

Step by Step Video Tutorial - Cover for Steno Pad - Coils & Curls Stamp Set

Why use a plain generic steno pad/note pad when you can create one that has the WOW factor.   I love making these for gifts.   I take a generic steno pad, cover it with our beautiful Fun Stampers Journey Cardstock, and then decorate it any way I would like.
