Anniversary Cards

Life got a bit hectic this last week, so I am a little behind on posting here to my blog.   Even though I Haven't posted, I have been creating numerous styles of cards.    Today I will share the two anniversary cards I made.

Tonic Cardmaking Magazine (Tulips)
Faber Castell Polychromos Pencils
FSJ Yummy Dots Embossing Folder
FSJ Rainbow Drops

FSJ Heart Strip Die Set

I used the die cut hearts (the pieces that were cut out) as accents on the inside and back of both cards.   Felt it added an extra touch to both of them.

Thank you for visiting my blog today.

Rose And Tulip Dies Make a Beautiful Card

Part of my birthday gift was the Tonic Cardmaking Magazine.   Scrapbook.com carried it here in the US.   It is now showing as sold out.   I was amazed at all the dies, stamps, embossing folder, and cardstock that came with the magazine.   It definitely is a great value.

Here's the first card I have made with it:

The half circle dies can be used as I did (both designs show) or can be cut twice to crate the same design on both sides.    Same with the corners ... each corner can be different or the same.   Fun to mix and match.

Scooby-Doo, Where Are You?

The last time we were at the post office, we picked up some sheets of Scooby-Doo forever postage stamps.   They are so cute with Scooby-Doo holding the watering can.   I realize too that there is a large image on the side of the sheet that I could recycle into a greeting card.

If you want to see the full sheet of stamps, click here (USPS link).

I hand drew in some areas of grass using my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens.   Set the fence over the top of Scooby-Doo and the grass, then added in the die cut sentiments.

Disney Themed Cards For All Occasions

A few weeks back I purchased some Disney themed dies at Tuesday Morning.   Finally had a chance to use them this weekend, so wanted to share my cards with you.  I am a big fan of the silhouette look (all solid color, usually black) so decided to use that technique for some of my cards.

 Disney Waltzing Belle Metal Die
The Belle card was made to fit into a legal size envelope.  I used textured 8 x 8 card stock and folded it in half, then accented with lavender ribbon and rainbow drops.   The card base is a light lavender too.

 Disney Poised Cinderella Metal Die
Disney Cinderella Embellishments Metal Die Set
This card is an A2 size (4 1/4 x 5 1/2).   Inside it has a clock striking midnight and her missing shoe for Prince Charming to find.   Card base is a pastel pink.

 Disney Daisy Duck Metal Die
Disney Donald Duck Metal Die
This card is also an A2 size.   Card base is bright yellow.   The metal words are from a grab bag I purchased of retired products.

Disney Mickey Mouse & Friends Joyful Mickey Metal Die
Disney Mickey Mouse & Friends Blissful Minnie
This card is a legal size (8 x 8 folded in half).   Card base is textured light silver card stock.   I added in the metal words.

Disney Fairies (unsure of official name for this one)
This was a set of 3D stickers.  I couldn't resist Tinkerbelle and her home.   Inside there are flowers that were part of the set.  Lots of sparkle and shine to her wings.   This was also found at Tuesday Morning.

I did use the Glue Sponge for the intricate dies.   It worked well.   I will have some tips and more information about it on my next blog post.

Layered Butterfly Card Using Kaleidoscope Die - Brave Enough to Fly

Oh my gosh, I received the most wonderful surprise gift the other day from my friend, Betty.   She gave me a set of Simply Defined dies called:

563205 Kaleidoscope, Brave Enough to Fly (set of 16 dies)
They are exclusive to Scrapbooking Made Simple
Video Tutorial by the company - starts at the 1 hour 10 min mark for these dies:
https://youtu.be/-PipAwWm_UE

These are very intricate dies so when I die cut them in my Gemini machine, I used "Quick Release Die Paper".

Thank you, Betty, for these beautiful dies.   I definitely will use them a great deal.

All 3 dies - each a different color of card stock (FSJ):
NOTE:  The sky is the limit on the color combinations you can use for these.

Green layer on top of the blue:

Pink layer on top of the green on top of the blue:

All 3 layers made into a card:

Each layer can be used alone or with one or two of the other layers.   The choice is yours.  The card edges can be adhered with 1/8" double sided tape, but I used liquid glue (fine tip applicator).

Twisted Panel Pop-Up Christmas Cards ... Three Versions

Here are the close up photos of my three Christmas cards I made this week using the Karen Burniston Twisted Panel Pop-Up Die Set #1009.   Each photo set has a cover shot and one of the inside.   The chipboard items and the stickers are from Echo Park.  Card stock and printed paper is from FSJ.   I also did a YouTube video showing these 3 cards.  These cards will fit in an A2 envelope, but would require extra postage because they are thicker.

Coloring With Zig Real Brush Pens and Faber Castell Polychromos Pencils

This card uses both Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens (the deepest color flower) and Faber Castell Polychromos Pencils(other flowers & leaves).  It was interesting to watch the coloring of the flowers as they came to life.   The Zigs give a deep rich bold color in this instance.  I actually like the two coloring mediums together.   A nice contrast of colors and technique.

Dahlia Burst Stamp & Die Set and card stock are from Fun Stampers Journey.

This card could be used for any occasion.

Rustic Wedding Die Set - Lace Heart

I am a big fan of intricate dies, and Crafter's Companion has quite a few.  I got this set from HSN on craft day a couple weeks ago.   This is is the Rustic Wedding Lace Heart Metal Die Set that is part of the Signature Collection by Sara Davies.

The card stock and pearls are from FSJ.   The Hello & Butterflies are also Crafter's Companion products.  They are from the Create-a-Card Butterflies Accessories Pack Die Set.

I had so much fun creating this card, that I had to make another.   This one uses the same die set, but I used Spectrum Noir Metallic Markers (Crafter's Companion) over one of the hearts to add a bit of shine to it.   The heart on the left has the metallic green over the top.

Spinner Square Pop-Up Die Set

Another Karen Burniston die set to share with you today.   This one is the 1042 - Spinner Square Pop-up Die Set.   Karen really does an amazing job on explaining how to put these die sets together to create the cards.   There are so many to choose from on her website.

The photo below is of the die set that I purchased.

Card stock is from FSJ.   Butterflies, flowers, and sentiment dies are from Crafter's Companion.  It is called Create-a-Card Butterflies Accessories Pack.   I did make this a window card for the front.

Starting to open the card.

Opening just a bit more.  See the small blue piece starting to peek out?

When the card is fully opened the small blue piece pops out.

Twist Panel Pop-up Card

One of my favorite designer is Karen Burniston.   She has such a wide variety of dies and unique styles for the cards they create.   I have two of her dies.   Today I wanted to showcase the 1009 - Twist Panel Pop-Up Card Die Set.   This is a photo of the die set.   Each of her dies have step by step videos on her website.

This card is a top fold card.   Card stock, printed paper, ink, and stamps are from FSJ.   Card base with top fold shown below.

This shows the insert and the twist panel as the card is being opened.

This is the twist panel (inside of the card) fully opened but not yet decorated.

FSJ Stamp Set is Dandelion Wishes SS-0497 from FSJ.    This is the card front.

This is the inside of the card with layers and stamped images.

This card is an A2 (4.25 x 5 1/2") but is a bit thicker so may require additional postage.   If a "belly band" is put over it, it would help keep it flatter for mailing.

The twist panel moves so smoothly.   I can't wait to make more.   Here's the direct link to the video tutorial for this specific die:   https://youtu.be/BuNlkY3x4t0

Having Fun With My Scrap Stash

It is amazing what can be created using scraps from your stash.   Here are a couple of examples of cards I made this last week:

This kind of reminds me of planets floating in outer space.   I took a negative design and used it as a stencil.   Colored in each one with a Spectrum Noir Metallic Marker.   The sky is tiny dots of metallic ink to give the look of the stars.   The brushed silver cut-out is actually cut-outs (the parts you normally would toss) from Merry Christmas Die.   I thought they looked interesting, so decided to add them to these two cards.

The card below is a number of these cut-outs glued to the card base and splattered with FSJ Silks (Gold, Bronze, Silver).   It could be used as a note card or add a sentiment to the front if needed.

Both cards are truly one of a kind.   Stretched my creativity and were a great deal of fun to make.

Metallic Butterflies

Crafter's Companion carries a line of Spectrum Noir Metallic Inks in stamp pads and also markers.  I recently purchased the markers (set of 12 and set of 6 all unique colors) and also some butterfly dies/stamps from them (via HSN on craft day).

This is the "negative" of a butterfly cut out that I used as a stencil.   I colored it on black card stock (FSJ) with a light lavender metallic color.   I like the simplicity of this.

Then I decided I wanted to switch it up a bit, so did the design again but in green.   I then cut out a larger, more detailed butterfly in white card stock.   The white butterfly was then covered with the light lavender metallic markder.   I only glued the head and body to the card stenciled design so that the wings would pop up.   Here's the finished design:

I accented the lavender wings with FSJ Sparkle Silk.

Get Well Soon Card - Spellbinders and Fun Stampers Journey Products

Normally I make my own card bases, but as I was destashing things this week I came across two packages of pre-made card bases.   So thought I would use them.   They are all the same cut.   Cute, but require a bit of measuring/cutting if you want other colors on it.   These are from Crafters Companion and are called Diecut Card Blanks.   I literally have had them for years!

The doily type circle is from Spellbinders - Delightful Circles Die S4-415.

I did use Fun Stampers Journey Card Stock and Rainbow Drops to accent.
