Potted Plants Stamp Set Used to Create an Easter Card

Penny Black makes the most beautiful rubber stamps, and I feel blessed to have acquired a few of them.   This is the last of the Penny Black Stamp Sets that Hal gave me for my birthday last week.   I love that these stamps can be easily colored in with pencils, Zig Real Brush Pens, Copics, watercolor pans and more!   This card is a mix of the stamped image, Altenew Watercolors Half Pan Set, Zig Real Brush Pens, and some metallic watercolors I had.    I wish you could see the shine from the metallic watercolor pans.   Really shiny and bright.

NOTE:   I separated/cut one of the butterflies from the main

stamp set.   It was too tight of a fit for an A2 card with it attached.

This way I was able to get the full design on the A2 card by

stamping it as two separate images.

Harmony Stamp Set by Penny Black Used For This Card.

I know it may not seem like Spring where you currently live, but I am sure it is just around the corner.   Here in Arizona, it definitely has arrived.  This card should bring some Springtime happiness to the person who receives it.   The stamp image is from Penny Black and is called Harmony.  The wood chip embellishments/bird cages I believe are from Bo Bunny.   I covered them with a set of Crafter's Companion Metallic Markers.

St Patrick's Day and Easter Cards

Oh my gosh, where has the time gone.   I can't believe I haven't posted for over a month!   No excuses, just "life got in the way".    As a result I'm not crafting every day like I use to.   I need to get back on track and craft more often.   I love making cards.

Here are some cards I made for St Patrick's Day and Easter this year:

The St Patick's Day cards were made from "window clings".   They had sticky backs and adhered to the card stock extremely well.   I loved the shine on the designs and the blending of the colors.  Once I saw them, I had to give them a try.

Next I worked on Easter cards.    These were made from retired stickers/die cuts I had.  It was fun trying to mix and match them.

Film Capture Die Set Used - Easter Card - Fun Stampers Journey Products

 

 

 

Spring cleaning is in the air and Easter is just a few days away.   I've been going through my stash and was amazed to find a number of items I don't think I have used before.   This Film Capture Die Set is one of them.   I know we got a pre-cut one in one of our FSJ Live kits, but I don't think I ever have used the die I purchased.   Now that I have used it, it will get used a lot more often.   So cute, and so easy to switch out the images inside.

 

Happy Easter is stamped inside the card.  There are so many different ways you could use the Film Capture Die Set.   You could even put real photos in the cut out areas.   It would be perfect for so many occasions too.  

I stamped the Easter Bunny (retired stamp set) in three different colors on Whipped Cream Card Stock.   I cut them out individually lining them up with the die opening.   They fit perfectly as a result.  I put Journey Foam Square behind to add some depth & dimension to the card.   Happy Easter sentiment is stamped inside of the card.

Easter Cards Day 3 of 3 - Fun Stampers Journey

 

Weaving some beautiful Fun Stampers Journey Satin Ribbons together help create this beautiful background for this Easter card.   Next time I will cut the backing (piece I did the weaving over) down just a bit more.   White Liner Tape was a HUGE help in securing the ends of the ribbons to the back of the backing piece of card stock.  Also used the White Liner Tape to secure the stamped images to the ribbon.   I originally was going to use Journey Foam Squares, but with the ribbon and the foam squares I feel it would of been too thick to go regular mail.   I try to keep my cards less than 1/4" thick so that they only need one stamp to mail.


Fun Stampers Journey Just Write Gels pens were the perfect accent for the flowers, basket, and sentiment.   It added some sparkle (they are metallic/shiny) to my card.   Just remember that the gel pens needs a minute or two to dry otherwise they can smear.

Easter Cards Day 2 of 3 - Fun Stampers Journey

This is such a cute bunny stamp.   It can be used for Easter or any time you need a bunny on your project.   It is one that is easy to fussy cut out and stamps beautifully.   The bunny could be done in many different colors.   I used a dark brown because it made me think of a chocolate bunny (a tradition to have one in my Easter baskets when I was growing up).  

The card base was accented with Journey Silks and the grass look die from the Border Details die set.  I popped out the bunny rectangle piece with Journey Foam Squares to give the card a bit of dimension.

Easter Cards Day 1 of 3 - Fun Stampers Journey

Easter this year is Sunday, April 16th which is three weeks away.  So you should have time to order supplies if needed and receive them in time to make your cards, gifts, and scrapbook pages.   I will be posting card ideas the next three days to help to inspire you.

This card just made me smile.   We always decorated Easter eggs as kids.   It was fun to see what we could create.   I remember making faces on them with stickers, but most were colored eggs.   We often used a wax white crayon on the eggs and then dyed over the drawing.   Gave us some interesting designs.

Easter Bunny ATS Not Just for Easter Cards - Fun Stampers Journey

I was having fun the other day creating some unique backgrounds with sponges and Fun Stampers Journey Ink Pads.   When I cut out the grass die (Border Details Die Set), I knew that I wanted to put an cute little animal hiding in the grass.   The bunny from the Easter Bunny AT Stamp Set was perfect.   Then I accented it with a handwritten sentiment and some paper punch butterflies.

Faux Quilt Samples Using Fun Stampers Journey Printed Paper and Stamps

I'm having so much fun with the faux quilt technique (see blog post from Friday, September 2 for a photo tutorial on how to create it).

Here's today's designs using this technique:

I created a new base using the Confectionary Prints Paper from Fun Stampers Journey.  Just a reminder too that the stitches are made using an ink pen and making little Xs on the seam lines.  I actually had cut out the ovals and then realized I forgot to take a photo of the complete faux quilt.   I layered it back together for this photo so you can see the cut lines if you look closely.

Fun Stampers Journey Geo Burst Die - Day 2 of 3

With this Geo Burst, I used both the design plate and the frame

when I ran it through my Journey Platinum Machine. 

By using both dies, it cuts out a complete individual 

piece.

Using Craft Glue I attached the design to my card front.

Remember to add a drop of Journey Glaze to the ends

of the sequins to prevent them from accidently

coming loose.

 I layered the sentiment using Paper Punches

from Fun Stampers Journey.

This die gives the cards such a look of elegance.  Love that it can be used for so many occasions too.   Very versatile.

Butterflies and Neon Colors for Cards - Day 3 of 3

This is my 3rd card I am sharing with you using the new neon colors:

Monday I showed you the new colors that will be available on July 1, 2016 from Fun Stampers Journey and my blog post on May 3rd gave you a sneak peek of the new colors which are Cosmic Grape, Electric Lime, Turbo Teal, Sour Lemon, Outrageous Pink, and Orange Rave.   The cards I have made use these colors (card stock and silks).
