Just Married Stamp Set and Embossing Used For This Wedding Anniversary Card - Fun Stampers Journey

A few of our friends had wedding anniversaries this week, so I have been busy making cards to mail out.

This is the first time I have used the Fun Stampers Journey Embossing Powders.  For this card I used both the white and the black.   Very pleased with the outcome and love how shiny it gets when heated then dried.

TIP:   Using embossing powders is a great way to keep watercolor inside of the lines.  It acts as a barrier so the watercolor doesn't spread out unless the brush is larger than the area you are painting.

TIP:   PanPastels Colorless Blender is great to use when embossing.   Sponge it on with your Sofft Tool or with a Dauber Dowel going completely over the area you will be embossing.   Rub in firmly to the card stock.   Doing this with the PanPastels eliminates static on your card stock.

Snappy Birthday Stamp & Die Bundle - Fun Stampers Journey

This card just makes me smile .... I love how the colors of the PanPastels blended into the background using our new Dauber Dowel (comes in both large and small sizes).   It makes the card bright and cheerful. 

Thread Tip:   When wrapping thread around a card piece (like I did above), put White Liner Tape on the back around the edges.   That way you can secure the thread as you wrap.   I did the complete surface without cutting until the end.   I wrapped from side to side for the complete piece, then top to bottom.  Went quickly and allowed me to space the thread (not perfect, but I am pleased with the result). 

PanPastel Tips:   Gently place the Dauber Dowel with pad on the PanPastel.   Then lightly pick up the color.  You won't need a lot.  I worked in circular motions as I worked in the color.   When you are putting the PanPastel on your card stock, you do want to apply brush so that it blends into the card stock and won't come off on your hand when handled.   If you have quite a bit of dust/residue on the card, take a paper towel and rub in circular motions in the same direction as your pattern.   It will pick up the excess. 
   
        I always rub my finger across the finished design to be sure there is no residue that comes off on my finger.   In the case of a stencil design, there  will be residue.  Tap off what you can.   If not a scrapbook piece (or item that will be saved for years and years), just spray with an aerosol hairspray lightly to lock in the color.   Allow to dry before adding anything else to the card.    For scrapbook pieces - long term pieces, there are good products at your art store that can be used to seal the color in and also protect the design.    The choice is yours is whether you want/need to treat the item or not with a sealant.    Honestly, I just make sure my PanPastels are well rubbed in.   I have sealed only a couple of pieces and those had been created using a stencil and the PanPastels.

Video Tutorial for Road Trip Die Set - Fun Stampers Journey

In the 2nd card, I cut off the words "Follow Me" using a pair of scissors.   Easy to do.    Then added in the Summer Play Sparkles .  The photo isn't doing this card justice.   I used the Lovely Blue Ink and Dauber on this card to create a soft blue sky effect.   It shows well in the video.

This die set will work in BOTH the Amaze and the Journey Platinum Die Cutting Machines.

Petal Note Die Set Used To Create a Box Video - Fun Stampers Journey

One of the many new products in the Fun Stampers Journey Spring into Summer mini catalog is the Petal Note Die Set.  It's on Page 29.  The finished note card using this die is approximately 3 1/4" x  3 1/4"

This is a photo of it closed up.  I used embellishments inside so does not lay totally flat.

The Serifs die will fit in both the Amaze and the Journey Platinum Machine.   The letters cut out are approximately 1" x 7/8".

Saint Patrick's Day Cards Using Fun Stampers Journey Products - Day 1 of 3

I decided I wanted to make some Saint Patrick's Day cards today.   What started out as making one card actually turned into making 5 cards.   I will spread them out over the next 3 days here on my blog.

In the process of making these cards today, I did a Facebook Live Feed.   In the feed, I give some stamping, cleaning your stamps, and other tips to help you with your crafting projects   I also show you how I choose the background paper for my first card.

TIP: Fun Stampers Journey "Journey Silks" And Gift Ideas

As you may be aware the Journey Silks have a small steel ball inside to help mix up the color.   Always mix well before using.

Some of the Silks (such as the Dark Roast) are a thicker medium.   If you find that the Silks have become too thick, Richard Garay stated that by adding just a few drops of water to the bottle you can thin the Silk.   Be sure to shake well after adding the water.
