Get Well Soon Card - Spellbinders and Fun Stampers Journey Products

Normally I make my own card bases, but as I was destashing things this week I came across two packages of pre-made card bases.   So thought I would use them.   They are all the same cut.   Cute, but require a bit of measuring/cutting if you want other colors on it.   These are from Crafters Companion and are called Diecut Card Blanks.   I literally have had them for years!

The doily type circle is from Spellbinders - Delightful Circles Die S4-415.

I did use Fun Stampers Journey Card Stock and Rainbow Drops to accent.

If you look closely you will see that after embossing the background with the All Stars Embossing Folder I lightly sponged sections of colors using our PanPastels.  I used the Confectionary Days PanPastels JM-0079.   Then splattered some Sparkle Silk over the background to add a bit of shine.

Greenhouse Embossing Folder and Die Set - Fun Stampers Journey Products

This card is 95% using all brand new products from the Fun Stampers Journey 2018 - 2019 Annual Catalog and Inspiration Book.   I'm so pleased with the outcome of it.   Not sure why, but it reminds me of looking up at the sky.  (maybe why they call it Greenhouse for both the die and the embossing folder since greenhouses are glass). 

Don't you just love the softness of the new Good Life Colors!  I used Rustic Rose for the card base and the flowers (accented them with Peaches & Cream Silk and Silver Silk).   Then cut the leaves out using the Fresh Sage.   I also cut out the center shape using the Tin Pail, but absolutely forgot all about it until AFTER I had adhered the leaves.   So will use another time.

Peaches And Cream Silk as well as Journey Silver Silk were splattered over the base of the card and also brushed onto the flowers/hearts.    The bows are made with our new Fresh Sage Thread.  The thread is super soft to the touch.   Love it!

Tool Rule Birthday Card - Fun Stampers Journey Products

I needed two masculine birthday cards this month.   Tools Rule Stamp & Die Sets are perfect for these types of cards.   This bundle can be used for so many types of cards:   Birthday, anniversary, thank you, thinking of you, and more.  Whether you use our Color Splash or Color Burst pencils, the stamped images are distinct and easy to color in.    I used the Color Splash (watercolor) pencils on each image and propped them up on the card with foam squares.   Isn't our Brush 01Silver Card Stock perfect for the embossed background.  It reminded me of a tool box when I choose it.   I lightly inked the TOOLS RULE sentiment to accent it just a bit more.   I forgot to take a photo of the inside of the card, but it had the tool belt stamped image that I fussy cut out.

Tone On Tone Lemon Drop Card Stock - Fun Stampers Journey Products

I wanted to share another example of the tone on tone technique using the exact same elements except a new color and a new sentiment.

Do you have a favorite?  The one on the left if from yesterday's blog post.  I like both of them and love all the depth and dimension each color shows.   I hope that you will try this technique too.   It is easy to do, but really gives the WOW factor to your project.

Tone On Tone Creates Elegance For This Card - Fun Stampers Journey Products

It is amazing how elegant a card can look with using only one main color for all of the elements except for the sentiment.   With this card I used Banana Cream for all of the card stock.   The sentiment was stamped with Hazelnut Blend ink pad.

Look at all the elements of this card and the layering.   There is an embossed background, layered leaves, layered tiny butterflies, and a popped up sentiment.   This card could be used for any occasion by just switching out the sentiment.   You could also switch all the complete look of the card by doing it in a completely different color for the card stock.   Any color would work.

A very special birthday card for a very special young man.

Simple, but unique birthday card I made this last week.   I made a card base with Huckleberry Fusion Card Stock, then another layer with the Ink Splat Embossing Folder.   Added a bit of Silver Pan Pastel and Bronze Silk.   The banner was cut out of Whip Cream Card Stock and then colored in with Journey Color Burst Pencils.

Pocket Pup Was The Perfect Addition For This Get Well Card - Fun Stampers Journey Products

The other night I wanted to make a Get Well card for a young man.   His favorite color is red so I used the color as my starting point.

Card base is Candy Apple card stock.   Then I layered on a red/white/blue print I made on my Gel Press.  The cute little puppy was stamped on Whip Cream Card Stock and then colored in using Journey Color Burst Pencils.  

I couldn't help but smile when I added the Wiggle Eyes to the puppy's face.  I think they really added to the look of the card, don't you agree!
