Step By Step Video Tutorial - Glitter Background Without the Mess - Fun Stampers Journey Products (FSJ)

Clearview Sheets, white glue, liquid colors, and Sparkle Dust (glitter)

I can't wait to share with you today some fabulous backgrounds I create using FSJ (Fun Stampers Journey) Clearview Sheets, glue, liquid colors, reinkers, and silks then topped off with Sparkle Dust (glitter) and tissue paper.

The technique allows the glitter to be captured underneath the card so will not come off on your hands after the card is finished.   Great way to have the sparkle and shine without the "fallout" of glitter when the card is handled.   NOTE:   Even though the glitter is contained, this technique is NOT recommended for cards that are being mailed to our troops overseas.

Our dies cut beautifully through the Color Splash Watercolor Sheets using my die cutting machine.  These were thin metal dies, so I wasn't sure if they would cut smoothly through the watercolor sheets.  Not an issue at all.   I had cut them out as a test, and then decided to watercolor them with our beautiful liquid colors mixed with some water.   Allowed both die cuts to dry completely before attaching to the card base.   The watercoloring was done in a random way  on the pine cone and on the heart plate I just visualized lines/segments.

Cottage Bouquet and Many Thanks Stamp Sets - FSJ Convention Card - Fun Stampers Journey Products

Who would of thought that a paper plate would be a great "tool" for creating this beautiful card!

The rounded edge of the card front was created by using a small round paper plate.  It was placed on the card front and with a pencil, I drew the rounded edge.   We actually did 7 circles of colors using liquid colors, then stamped the image on top of that.   You can fussy cut the flowers or use the die set that matches Cottage Bouquet.   Sparkle Silk, sequins, Journey Glaze and Sparkle Dust

To create the look of the dunes/sand, I hand tore the Oatmeal Cookie Card Stock, then added touches of Journey Glaze.  The background is printed paper (retired), but the sky background could easily be created with PanPastels, Liquid Colors, or the Gel Press.   I felt the Nature Buttons were the perfect accessory for this card.  They are textured like shells and the other side is like alabaster shell with its iridescence.   The buttons were glued on with a few drops of our Journey Craft Glue.

Journey Birthday 2018 Stamp Set Used With Shaker Card Design - Fun Stampers Journey Products

Had to share with you what I created using the exclusive Journey Birthday 2018 Stamp Set for Fun Stampers Journey Coaches.  I created a shaker card with it and the For You Die Set.   I colored in the letters with our wonderful Liquid Colors and then filled in the shaker card part with Slice-Fetti.   I think next time I do a similar design I will do the gift cut-out in a contrasting color, but I am pleased with this result.

The Happy Birthday was covered with Journey Glaze.  While still wet, I added Sparkle Dust to the top and allowed it to dry.

Good Karma Stamp Set With Shaving Cream Background Technique - Fun Stampers Journey Products

I was having so much fun creating the backgrounds (hope you enjoyed my video tutorials the last two days here on my blog) that I had to create another card with the Shaving Cream Background Technique that was using Fun Stampers Journey Liquid Colors.

Step by Step Video Tutorial: Shaving Cream Background Technique Using FSJ Liquid Colors

The Shaving Cream Background Technique, although messy, creates some very beautiful and unique backgrounds.   Our Fun Stampers Journey Liquid Colors are perfect for adding color to the project.  You can also use our Re-Inkers for this technique.

I created the background first, then cut down to the size I wanted (3 3/4" x 5").   Then I used the embossing folder to create the added dimension for the card.  The embossing folder is called Layered Scallops EF-0018.

NOTE:  With the Fun Stampers Journey Logo facing upwards on the embossing folder, open it and place your background paper inside with the design ALSO facing upwards.

I really like that we have so many ribbons that perfectly match our card stock, inks, etc.  Above I used Watermelon Fusion Card Stock CS-0039 with matching Watermelon Fusion Satin Ribbon AC-0183.  I made the bow separately and attached it with glue dots.   Journey Sequins Bloom Time AC-0114 were attached with our Journey Craft Glue to the bicycle basket.  I was very pleased with how well they went with the overall look of the card and its color scheme.

Step by Step Video Tutorial: FSJ Splash Background Technique - Fun Stampers Journey Products

The flowers on this card were cut out with the Fun Stampers Journey Die Set called:
Romantic Bloom Die Set DI-0324  set of 6 dies

The flowers were layered on the background card base using Journey Foam Squares.   I accented the petals using a paint brush and Limeade Splash Liquid Color.   The very center of the flowers is coated with Sparkle Silk which adds lots of shimmer and shine to the flowers.

Spring Botanicals Stamp & Die Set - Fun Stampers Journey Products

I worked on this card for quite a while the other day.   I wish you could really see all of the details in it.  Using PanPastels, I created a background of soft colors angled across the whip cream card stock.   They were also used to highlight each of the flowers that had been stamped and die cut.   Each flower has its own accent too with Journey Glaze and Star-fetti (purple flower) or Sparkle Cuts (pink flower) or Sparkle Dust (yellow flower).

Hopefully in this photo you can see the streaks of colors from the PanPastels.   They were gently brushed across the card stock with the Sofft Tool sponges.

Create-a-Palette and Liquid Colors - Fun Stampers Journey Products

I absolutely love Fun Stampers Journey products and our wide range of colors.   In our ink pads and reinkers, I have NEVER purchased the Lemon Drop or Limeade Splash ink pads or reinkers.   I am super scent sensitive and these two inks have a stronger odor to them than the rest of the colors.  For me, it is not worth taking a chance, so these two colors of ink pads are missing from my collection.  I have NOT had any issues with any of the other colors in the line.

I was so excited when Fun Stampers Journey introduced the Liquid Colors in July 2017.   These colors are water based whereas our regular colors are hybrids (a combination of dye and pigment inks).   The Liquid Colors have NO noticeable odor in the Lemon Drop and Limeade Splash!!!  In fact, I can't smell any odor in any of the Liquid Colors.

When the Liquid Colors were introduced, Fun Stampers Journey also introduced the Create-a-Palette.   It was originally meant for combining 5 colors in one ink pad to create some unique and beautiful designs.  I have a video and blog post on how to create using the 5 colors ... click here to view.

I started with my Liquid Color and the Create-a-Palette.   I covered in the whole pad and probably used about 1/4 to 1/3 of the bottle of liquid.

Here's the completed one using the Limeade Splash.

Here's both the Lemon Drop and the Limeade Splash ink pads I created using the Liquid Colors.  I am so pleased with the results.   Now I have a complete set of Fun Stampers Journey Ink Pads, just two of them were created with Liquid Colors!!

Did you notice that the images in the last photo are a "sneak peek"?   These stamps are from a brand new stamp set that will be in the Bloom This Way Mini Catalog that will premiere in January 2018!!!   It is called:

What a beautiful stamp set.   I will share more about them next week.   This Saturday is the FSJ Presents Live Event and this was one of the stamp sets in our kits.   I love how the flowers in it shade themselves because of the design.
