A Wizard Stamp Set - Penny Black Stamp Set

Penny Black has some of the most amazing red rubber stamps.  As I mentioned my wonderful husband gave me my birthday present early, so I am trying some of them out now.   Can't wait to share all the items with all of you.

I love the quality of these stamps.   It is red rubber and has the design on the cling side.  In my opinion, rubber stamps are the best.   No odor, easy to clean, and the best stamped images!!!

A Wizard

I stamped out the design on white card stock.   The image was colored in with Faber Castell Polychromos Pencils, then was fussy cut out.   The cut out image was adhered to brushed silver card stock which I also fussy cut around to mimic the same outline as the stamped image.   The card base is a navy blue.   I did use FSJ  Gold Silk for the stars on the blanket and the spots on the card base.   The stars were hand painted with a brush to keep the FSJ Silk within the lines.

I'm definitely going to have to see if there are other stamp sets of wizards from Penny Black.   I see many "magical" cards in my future.

Unicorn Watercolor Picture

OK,I admit it ... I think I am obsessed with the unicorn digital image from my Kit And Clowder class.   Today I decided I had to try it with the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens.   I am beyond pleased with the results.

The horn was done with a gold gel pen.   Then I took Silver Sparkle Silk and put it over the mane and the horn to add some sparkle and shine.

This one I believe I will frame and keep along with the color pencil one I did using the Faber Castell Polychromos Pencils.

Each one has its own unique look.

Hope you find time to do some creating today.

Having Fun With My Scrap Stash

It is amazing what can be created using scraps from your stash.   Here are a couple of examples of cards I made this last week:

This kind of reminds me of planets floating in outer space.   I took a negative design and used it as a stencil.   Colored in each one with a Spectrum Noir Metallic Marker.   The sky is tiny dots of metallic ink to give the look of the stars.   The brushed silver cut-out is actually cut-outs (the parts you normally would toss) from Merry Christmas Die.   I thought they looked interesting, so decided to add them to these two cards.

The card below is a number of these cut-outs glued to the card base and splattered with FSJ Silks (Gold, Bronze, Silver).   It could be used as a note card or add a sentiment to the front if needed.

Both cards are truly one of a kind.   Stretched my creativity and were a great deal of fun to make.

Metallic Butterflies

Crafter's Companion carries a line of Spectrum Noir Metallic Inks in stamp pads and also markers.  I recently purchased the markers (set of 12 and set of 6 all unique colors) and also some butterfly dies/stamps from them (via HSN on craft day).

This is the "negative" of a butterfly cut out that I used as a stencil.   I colored it on black card stock (FSJ) with a light lavender metallic color.   I like the simplicity of this.

Then I decided I wanted to switch it up a bit, so did the design again but in green.   I then cut out a larger, more detailed butterfly in white card stock.   The white butterfly was then covered with the light lavender metallic markder.   I only glued the head and body to the card stenciled design so that the wings would pop up.   Here's the finished design:

I accented the lavender wings with FSJ Sparkle Silk.

Brush Pens Coloring Project

I found some "generic" brush pens and decided to give them a try.   Not the quality of the brush pens I have used in the past, but fun to play with.

The coloring page was a freebie from Kit and Clowder for joining their mailing list.
NOTE:  I have NOT taken any of their classes.   My coloring page was just "me having some fun".   They have a series of free classes and paid ones too.

I did accent the turn of the petals with Sparkle Silk (FSJ).

What have you been creating?

A Day of Butterflies - Note Cards

I love butterflies and was so excited to find a set of laser cut chipboard ones from Bo Bunny.   Chipboard can be easily covered with Fun Stampers Journey Silks to completely give them a metallic look (or any color you would like).  For these, I used both the Bronze and the Silver Silks from Fun Stampers Journey.

No sentiments on my cards today.   I wanted them for note cards, that I could use for any occasion.   I discovered that the Journey Glaze works GREAT to adhere the chipboard to my card background.   After I glued it on, I placed the card upside down on plastic and weighted it down so that it would help spread the glaze and keep the butterfly flat.   Worked extremely well.

Enchanted Cat Is "Purrfect" for Halloween Card - Fun Stampers Journey Products

I added a bit of black PanPastel to one of the backgrounds I created the other day in my video and used it to showcase the black cat.   Thought it would make a cute card for Halloween.    The Pumpkin Patch Bow was a great addition to the cat I thought plus added a pop of color.

I have a question for you .... I have started to add in product photo and links at the bottom of each blog post.  Which do you like better .... with or without the prices?    The system I am using to display the items does not show the sale pricing, just the regular pricing.    If you click on an item (like the Whip Cream Card stock), it will show the sale price on my business website where you order.     Today I have included the pricing.   Remember the solid color card stock and the coordinating stamp pads are 20% off all month through my Fun Stampers Journey website.
