Vinyl Designs For T-Shirts - Some Fun Stampers Journey Products

I've been busy creating gifts the last week or so.   And in the process made a couple shirts for myself too.   Iron on vinyl is a fun way to refresh shirts/tees/jackets you might have in your closet.   Be sure though if you use a regular iron, that you place your shirt etc on a very hard surface and put an ironing sheet over the surface and a teflon sheet between the design and the iron.   Press on both sides to ensure the design is fully attached.    Santa brought me the Cricut Easy Press this year (let me have it early), so I have used that instead of an iron to create these shirts.

Will fit both the Amaze & the Platinum Machines
With a steel rule die, I didn't have to remove the heat transfer layer before cutting.   I have used the Steel Rule dies for 3 types of iron-on .... Cricut Glitter Iron On, Cricut Lite-Iron On, and Siser Easy Weed.   If I am going to use the vinyl with our paper punches I remove the heat transfer layer before cutting.   NOTE:  Not all vinyl will easily cut with the thin metal dies.  For them I do remove the heat transfer layer too before cutting.

(In BINARY 10 = 2)
Hubby was thrilled with his shirt.

This shirt I created the text in SCAL (Sure Cuts a Lot) then saved as a JPG to cut out on my Brother ScanNCut2.   I have had my ScanNCut2 for a couple of years now, must admit it has received more use the last week than the last year.   I find for my card making, it is really quicker and easier to just use my dies to cut things out.

NOTE:  If you use TEXT with iron-on vinyl, remember you have to mirror the text before cutting it out.

And the final shirt I made last night (more to come I'm sure):

Can you guess what it says?
(answer will be in the next paragraph)

My husband loves shirts, license plates that you have to think about what they say.   So this shirt was perfect for him.   It says:   "Think outside the box."   For this shirt, the text and box were created in SCAL (Sure Cuts a Lot) and saved as a SVG file.   The box would of been easy to cut out with my Fun Stampers Journey Squares Die DI-0038 Set of 10 as long as I removed the clear heat transfer paper before cutting.

More Gift Ideas Using Iron-On Vinyl And a Fun Stampers Journey Love Is Paper Punch

Always on the lookout for new ways to use my Fun Stampers Journey products.   Today I used the LOVE IS Paper Punch TO-0006 to punch out hearts from Cricut Glitter Iron-On Vinyl.   It was so easy to do ONCE I removed the clear transfer sheet from my scraps.  With the clear transfer sheet on the Glitter Iron-On Vinyl is just too thick for the paper punch.

When I ironed the little hearts on, I just covered them with a Teflon sheet to protect them and the item I was ironing.

The Mickey and Minnie are from a Brother ScanNCut Design Set I have.   The 3 different sizes of hearts are from our FSJ paper punch.   This one I must admit I did "gift" to myself.   It was my test one (or at least that is the justification I used to keep it ... LOL).

Reminder:   With the Paper Punch Cartridge, you do need to have at least one handle.

Close up of the design on the t-shirt.

These hot pads are from the Dollar Store.   I split the design in two and then added in the hearts.

This is a cotton flour sack dish towel.   I found them in packs of 10 for less than $8 at Walmart.   Since I had some of the glitter sheets left, I made a dish towel to go with the hot pads.

So much fun.

In our paper punches, we have circle, squares, ovals, scallops, stars, butterflies, tags, banners, arrows and MORE!!!  They start on page 292 of the main catalog.   Just remember if you purchase any of the paper punch cartridges to be sure to purchase at least ONE handle.

Blooming Details Die Used With Iron-On Vinyl - Fun Stampers Journey Die

To decorate these pot holders I used the Fun Stampers Journey Blooming Details Die Set DI-0327 which is a set of 9 dies.  I used Siser Easyweed Heat Transfer (Iron-On) Vinyl.   I ran the dies through a Gemini Jr to cut them out.   The thin metal dies are not thick enough to cut through Glitter Iron-Vinyl (but our Steel Rule Dies work wonderfully with most vinyl and can be cut in the Amaze or Platinum Machine).   I could not get the thin metal dies to cut in either the Amaze or the Platinum Machine.  It may just be a need for additional shim which I didn't try.

Pot holders are from the Dollar Tree store.

Love discovering new ideas to use our Fun Stampers Journey products.

Look What I Did With My Steel Rule Dies! - Fun Stampers Journey Products - Gift Ideas

Everyday Elements Steel Rule Die SR-0004
Will fit both the Amaze & the Platinum Machines

Santa came a bit early and brought me an Cricut Easy Press Machine.   Of course, I had to try it right away.   I used the Everyday Elements Steel Rule Die to cut out the feathers, flower, heart, and butterfly with Cricut Iron-On Black Glitter Vinyl.  Oh my gosh, the vinyl cut like butter with my steel rule dies and the Easy Press made it super easy to iron on the vinyl designs.

I used some heavy linen (100% cotton) napkins that are 20 x 20 that I found at the store for my testing.   So pleased with the results.   I have a couple of Fun Stampers Journey aprons that I want to personalize with designs and now I know it will be easy for me to do using my steel rule dies.

Wish you could see all the sparkle in the iron-on vinyl.   So pretty.  I have a few different colors of vinyl, but this I did in all black as my test.

Always trying to think of gift ideas.   This will work well for me I'm sure.
