I can't wait to share with you today some fabulous backgrounds I create using FSJ (Fun Stampers Journey) Clearview Sheets, glue, liquid colors, reinkers, and silks then topped off with Sparkle Dust (glitter) and tissue paper.
The technique allows the glitter to be captured underneath the card so will not come off on your hands after the card is finished. Great way to have the sparkle and shine without the "fallout" of glitter when the card is handled. NOTE: Even though the glitter is contained, this technique is NOT recommended for cards that are being mailed to our troops overseas.

I did a Facebook Live Feed the other night on my KreatesKards Journey With Mary Director business page. The card above showcases this technique using Fun Stampers Journey (FSJ) products.

The video gives step by step direction on how to create this type of background. I also did another live feed showing how to create a similar background but with glitter and texture. It's on YouTube now, but I will also showcase it on my blog this week.
Here is the second card (scalloped circle) that is shown in the video. The photo is of the front and of the inside of the card.
This card used white glue, FSJ Liquid Colors, and the Clearview Sheets.

NOTE: Although I did use the thin metal dies (Journey Scallops Die Set) on the Clearview Sheets,I do NOT recommend it. They did not cut completely through and left ragged edges. They are GREAT for cardstock and cut like a dream. For the Clearview sheets, our Steel Rule dies are perfect, and we have a huge selection starting on page 308 in our main (annual) catalog.
The backgrounds using the Liquid Colors and the Re-Inkers did not dry overnight. In areas that were heavily saturated with color, the centers of the color were still slightly damp 2 days later. I covered them with card stock to protect them from seeping through to my card base. The Silks dried overnight with no problem. The white glue leaves a frosted look on the clearview sheets.
Used different colors for backing these. It changes the look of
the background and is fun to do.
