I joined Fun Stampers Journey back in March 2016. My original thought was just to do this as a Hobby Coach. The company and the products are so amazing that within just a couple of weeks (for me) it became a business.
My dream became to become a Manager for Fun Stampers Journey. Today that dream has become a reality. Because of my wonderful team members and customers, I have earned the promotion to Manager.

The Bucket List Stamp set is perfect for a party invitation. It includes a party banner, cups, cans, ice, a bucket list and MORE. I must admit that ALL the items in the Under Sea Collection have captured my heart and creative spirit. This collection is available from April 1 to June 30, 2017 and is in our Fun Stampers Journey Spring Into Summer Mini Catalog.
This was my first time using the Scalloped Pocket Die. It was so easy to use and can be used in either of our die cutting machines (Amaze or Platinum). The little pocket that is created is perfect for a gift card or a special note. You might want to put a small glue dot on the back of the gift card to keep it in place and to allow it to show above the scallop.
I really felt the Rich Color inks and paper are a perfect match for both the lobster (Pinch Love) or the crabs (Snappy Birthday). The tiny vinyl hearts are part of the Magical Journey Collection which also ends at the end of June. The hearts are in the Magical Candy Drops (55 pieces) and are self adhesive.
Card base was accented with the Bronze Silk and Journey Twine Candy Apple.

Whether looking to make a card for encouragement or graduation, this Dream Big Stamp Set will be a hit. The dinosaur background paper is from our last mini catalog and is called Sweet Spring. I didn't think of it being retired until after I had made the card.
I fussy cut the image used our paper cutter to cut out the sentiment. Added a bit of twine/thread to accent the cute little dinosaur that I had watercolored. A bit of Bronze and Silver Silk added to the sentiment to highlight it just a bit more.

Update: Glitter Pen
A couple weeks ago I posted a blog post and a video on how to make your own glitter pen. After talking to Corporate, it has been determined that this is NOT a good idea as the glitter can clog the brush system (blending brushes) and also cause some leaking through the air hole of the brush. As a result, I have deleted the blog post and also the video. I will no longer recommend doing this. The blending brushes were made for water use not the SILKS.

This card just makes me smile .... I love how the colors of the PanPastels blended into the background using our new Dauber Dowel (comes in both large and small sizes). It makes the card bright and cheerful.
Thread Tip: When wrapping thread around a card piece (like I did above), put White Liner Tape on the back around the edges. That way you can secure the thread as you wrap. I did the complete surface without cutting until the end. I wrapped from side to side for the complete piece, then top to bottom. Went quickly and allowed me to space the thread (not perfect, but I am pleased with the result).
PanPastel Tips: Gently place the Dauber Dowel with pad on the PanPastel. Then lightly pick up the color. You won't need a lot. I worked in circular motions as I worked in the color. When you are putting the PanPastel on your card stock, you do want to apply brush so that it blends into the card stock and won't come off on your hand when handled. If you have quite a bit of dust/residue on the card, take a paper towel and rub in circular motions in the same direction as your pattern. It will pick up the excess.
I always rub my finger across the finished design to be sure there is no residue that comes off on my finger. In the case of a stencil design, there will be residue. Tap off what you can. If not a scrapbook piece (or item that will be saved for years and years), just spray with an aerosol hairspray lightly to lock in the color. Allow to dry before adding anything else to the card. For scrapbook pieces - long term pieces, there are good products at your art store that can be used to seal the color in and also protect the design. The choice is yours is whether you want/need to treat the item or not with a sealant. Honestly, I just make sure my PanPastels are well rubbed in. I have sealed only a couple of pieces and those had been created using a stencil and the PanPastels.

In the 2nd card, I cut off the words "Follow Me" using a pair of scissors. Easy to do. Then added in the Summer Play Sparkles . The photo isn't doing this card justice. I used the Lovely Blue Ink and Dauber on this card to create a soft blue sky effect. It shows well in the video.

I have been having so much fun "playing" withe the frosted Shrinky Dinks sheets to create items for cards and decorations. The frosted sheets are easy to color or sponge on too.

Here are four of the Matchbox gift/favor boxes that I have made over the last couple of days. I made them using the Matchbox Steel Rule Die from Fun Stampers Journey. Then accented them with the ruffled flowers I made the other day.
The boxes made up are: 2 5/8" x 2 5/8" x 1 1/8".
The die itself is slightly larger than 8 1/2 x 11 so requires the Journey Platinum Die Cutting Machine which has a larger work area. This die will NOT fit in the Journey Amaze Die Cutting Machine.

These matchbox boxes are perfect for wedding or party favors and are great when you need a jewelry box too. Mix and match solid color card stock with printed card stock to create beautiful combinations.
Steel rule dies can cut "layers of card stock" (not just one sheet at a time), material, felt, chipboard and more. Very versatile dies.

Today's blog post is going to be a bit longer than normal. I want to share not only my video but some close up photos for the step by step making of these beautiful ruffled flowers. They are made from ten 2" scallop circles.
Richard Garay, President and Co-Founder of Fun Stampers Journey, sends each Journey Coach a dated (year) Birthday Stamp and card each year during their birthday month. Mine arrived the other day, and this is what it looks like. I've never worked for a company before that gave their Coaches/Reps a birthday present. Really nice, and greatly appreciated.
The flowers shown in this photo are flowers for today's tutorial. I did a YouTube video tutorial showcasing step by step instructions on how to make these flowers. Here are the directions with photos:
1. Punch out ten 2" scallop circles.
a. Fold in half, then fold in half again.
b. Open and mark the center with a pen.
c. Using handheld paper punch, punch hole in center.
d. You now need to break down the fibers in the circles. This is accomplished by folding over and over and doing it again. You want to make the circles softer and easy to fold up.
2. Place a small brad into the center of the circle and layer them on the brad.
a. When all in place, open the brad up and tape down to secure.
3. Create your center bud by folding up the top circle around the brad. Make it as tight as possible.
4. Continue building up, folding in each layer. Keeping it as tight as possible. As you work down through the layers it will be a bit harder to fold them up.

6. Using your fingers gently spread apart the layers. It will open up the bloom. Making it very full. Perfect for the top of a package.
I made this cake YEARS ago using a cake slice template (google "cake slice template" if you would like to find one). The template I originally used is not longer available otherwise I would link it here for you. The slices are party favors that I decorated with scallop circles, leaves, and my ruffled flowers. Such a cute centerpiece. I made this for a friend. It was filled with individually wrapped chocolates. She took it into work for her birthday and shared with her co-workers.
These flowers are dense/thick. So if you used them on a card, they definitely will need a padded envelope. They are about 1" from top to bottom so that will require extra postage too. Worth it though, in my opinion.
