I cut my card stock into card front size pieces. Then took the ink pads and pressed them/pounced them over the card stock. No set pattern or pressure. Added color in where I wanted more highlight of a color.
Once completed, then I then stamped my images from the Under the Sea stamp set, cut them out using my Journey Platinum Machine (Pg 177 of the main catalog), and colored them in using color pencils.
I am very pleased with the outcome of this project. Here are samples of what I created.
The above is the before and after using the Blue Lagoon solid card stock for the background. If you click on the photos, you can enlarge them to get a closer look. The stamp pad pouncing definitely adds texture and dimension to the look. I outlined this card front with a Whipped Cream base/border. This card will have a Happy Birthday sentiment inside.
The samples above were done using the Oatmeal Cookie card stock and the Under the Sea stamp & die set bundle. On this one I actually did the ink pad pouncing right on the card base itself. I used only the front of the card, but could of also taken it over to the back side too.
When I first received my Fun Stampers Journey kit, I immediately had to try the ATS (Artist Trading Stamp) called Damask Print that was part of my kit. I had stamped it with Black Licorice ink on Whipped Creamed oval shape that I had. When I was trying this background technique, I came across my oval. Decided to do the background technique on it too. Pleased with the results. Reminds me of an old fashion brooch.
This hasn't been put on a card yet. But I can envision it with a larger oval background then placed on a card base. Would be great for an Easter card too.

Hi, Mary. I love these - I think they almost look like opal, and the undersea images fit perfectly.
