Earlier I showed you other examples on how this background stamp could be used (click here to see the post).  Today I decided I wanted to hand color it in to see how it would look.   Very pleased with the results.  Will make it into a card soon.

Another way this could be done is to stamp another image and hand cut the flowers out and layer on the background.

Cottage Bloom Die Set Paired with PanPastels for the Perfect Card - Fun Stampers Journey Products

Not only was PanPastels used on the flower layers, I also used it to help create the background of this card.   I used a small Dauber Dowel with Clear Pigment Ink to stamp impressions of circles on the Whip Cream Card Stock.    Then gently sponged PanPastels over it.  Then added in 3 colors of Silks - Gold, Silver, Bronze.

Card base, flower, and thread is Peaches and Cream color.

Finished cards with a stamped sentiment from Mini Greetings.   What a great deal this stamp set is!  Fifteen stamps for $8.95 -- all sentiments.   On Page 66 of main catalog.  Click here to view on my business page.

This was a "Just Because" card for a friend who has a black cat.  

Updates:  
To create the wood look on the fence, I ran the die cut fence piece through the Barn Wall Embossing Folder then dusted it with Copper PanPastel.  

To create the background I used the Meow stamp with Clear Pigment Ink over the card base.

So Easy to Create Boxes Using FSJ Scoring Board

Last Monday on my blog I showcased the new Fun Stampers Journey Scoring Board TO-0149.   There are 3 really good videos that blog post that show you how to make envelopes, boxes, and envelope boxes.    Click Here to view.

I decided to make some boxes with Fun Stampers Journey Printed Paper that I had that is retired.  What an easy way to make a beautiful box.   Just add embellishments and ribbon when completed.  Here is one of the boxes I made.

This used two sheets of printed paper.   The ombre pink is one side and the printed floral is the other.

Creative Envelopes Using the Basics Piercing Template - Fun Stampers Journey Products

I am having so much fun today playing with the Basics Piercing Template, Journey Piercing Mat, and the Bloom Tool.    After creating my own envelopes I decided I wanted to add some creative design to them using the template.   Here are some of the envelopes I created.

For the envelope above, I outlined the edge and added in a heart.

This envelope I added in cured lines from side to side.

The template is not just for envelopes.   It can be used on any card stock.   Be sure to use the piercing mat underneath (mat, card stock, template) to protect your work surface from the sharp point of the Bloom Tool.    Here are some additional samples I made.   They would be great for scrapbook pages too.

Here is a photo of the template showing all the designs that are on it.   Template is 12" x 12" and is a flexible frosted plastic.

There is even a piercing edge for the complete area around a 12" x 12" piece of paper.   Perfect for a scrapbook page.

Game On Stamp Set Mini Tutorial - Perfect for Birthday Celebration - Fun Stampers Journey Products

My husband, Hal, had a birthday the other day.    He loves to play video games, so a birthday card with a gaming theme was the perfect choice.

Mini Tutorial on how to create this card:

1.  8 1/2" x 5 1/2" piece of Fresh Sage Card Stock ... score and fold the wider side at 4 1/4". This is the card base.   Set aside.

2.  3 3/4" x 5" Whip Cream Card Stock for the layer.
     Using a large dauber and dowel, shade the background.
     Splatter on Bronze and Silver Silks.
     Angle the piece of card stock and score every 1/2"  using our Scoring Board.  Then using your precision shears clip/notch the ends of the score marks.   This will help hold the thread in place.  I also put a notch in the other two ends for the final piece of thread.
    Wrap the Fresh Sage Thread around the card securing each end.
     Using White Liner Tape, secure the Whip Cream layer to your card base.

3.  Stamp the game controller with River Stone Ink Pad.  
     Fussy cut out.
     Attach to the Whip Cream layer with Foam Squares.
     Put Journey Glaze over the top.
     Set aside to dry completely.

4.  Stamp the sentiment "Level Complete" with Chambray Shirt Ink. 
     Fussy cut the sentiment out.
    Attach to the Whip Cream layer with Foam Squares
     Brush the edges with Fresh Sage Ink Pad.
     Put Journey Glaze over the top.
     Set aside to dry completely.

5.  Attach Sea Stones to the card front.

6.  Stamp the sentiment inside the card "Happy Birthday" with Chambray Shirt Ink.

7.  Write a personal note, sign the back of the card showing that you made it, and the card is complete.

NOTE:   This is important ... be absolutely certain that your Journey Glaze is totally dry before putting this in an envelope.    If not completely dry, the envelope will adhere to the wet areas.   Don't ask me how I know!!!

A friend brought to my attention that the other day was National Cow Appreciation Day!!!  Even shared a darling video clip of a cow CLICK HERE to view the clip on facebook.

Baby Envelope Die Set, Mini Greetings Stamp Set, Clover Bloom Die Set - Fun Stampers Journey Products

For this card background I scored a line every 1/2 inch, then cut a small slit on each end.   That allowed me to wrap and hook in the Peaches and Cream Thread to created the background.

The Baby Envelope is a big hit with Coaches and customers alike.   It is just so cute, and there are many designs you can use for the inside.   Mini Greetings Stamp Set is just perfect with it.

Did you notice the different tones of color on the layers of this flower?   It is all Peaches and Cream Card Stock,but I brushed the largest flower and the 3 layer with Rose Gold Pan Pastel JM-0122.  It adds some depth to the color and a bit of sparkle too.

Greenhouse Embossing Folder and Die Set - Fun Stampers Journey Products

This card is 95% using all brand new products from the Fun Stampers Journey 2018 - 2019 Annual Catalog and Inspiration Book.   I'm so pleased with the outcome of it.   Not sure why, but it reminds me of looking up at the sky.  (maybe why they call it Greenhouse for both the die and the embossing folder since greenhouses are glass). 

Don't you just love the softness of the new Good Life Colors!  I used Rustic Rose for the card base and the flowers (accented them with Peaches & Cream Silk and Silver Silk).   Then cut the leaves out using the Fresh Sage.   I also cut out the center shape using the Tin Pail, but absolutely forgot all about it until AFTER I had adhered the leaves.   So will use another time.

Peaches And Cream Silk as well as Journey Silver Silk were splattered over the base of the card and also brushed onto the flowers/hearts.    The bows are made with our new Fresh Sage Thread.  The thread is super soft to the touch.   Love it!

Triangle Treat Die Set Used to Creat A Cake Full of Party Favors - Fun Stampers Journey Products

It's always so much fun to create something unique and different to use as a gift, packaging, or decoration.   The Triangle Treat Die Set offers all 3.   It can be used as a gift package/box, a party favor, or as a table decoration for a special event.   Whether a birthday, wedding, shower, retirement party etc, these darling boxes will be the perfect accessory to the decor. 

Yesterday on my blog, I showed you an individual slice of cake that I made.   Today I want to show you how you can make a full cake using 8 of these put together.    Here are some photos of my completed projects (note:  I used 6 so that you can see what the inside would look like):

Doesn't this look good enough to eat!  Each cake slice top was embellished just a little bit differently.  I switched out the colors of the roses and the dots are both gold and silver.   Imagine the possibilities of cake flavors (change the card stock color), frosting (change out the ribbon), and decorations for the top (change it out for any occasions).

By lining up the ribbon with the center end scallop on each slice, it keeps the ribbon lined up all the way around when put together for the full cake.

The Triangle Treat Die will work in the Amaze Machine, Platinum 6 (pre-order it now), and the Platinum Machine.   For the Amaze and the Platinum 6, it's a bit tighter of a cut but doable.  This is the way FSJ has demonstrated cutting out the die with the smaller platform machine.   You will need to cut the end piece twice.   Each slice of cake will use an 8 1/2 x 11 inch piece of card stock.   Cut the card stock down to accommodate the long die.   Then cut out the end pieces with the remaining piece of card stock.   3 runs through the machine.   I highly recommend taping (washi tape works well) the dies down so they do not move while cutting.  

With the Platinum Machine, it will allow you to cut a sheet of 8 1/2 x 11 inch of card stock at one time.   No need to cut the sheet into two pieces.  I laid the dies at an angle.   This gave me a bit more room to work with them.   Either way, you will still use one full sheet of card stock per slice of cake.   This is how I laid it out before running it through my Platinum Machine.

Reminder, you will still need to cut out two of the end pieces.

Tips:

1.   Craft Glue worked extremely well with this project.   I like that it allows me to move the card stock into place.   Allow each section to set up/dry before moving on.   This will allow for a stronger hold.
2.  FSJ White Liner Tape was perfect for the back of the ribbon.   It allowed me to place and secure it to the cake slice.
3.   Craft Glue (not glue dots or white liner tape) worked the best for securing the scalloped ends.
4.   Create some areas to allow the slices to dry with the scallop tip facing down (I put it between to bottles of liquid) so that the bow can dry flat.
5.   Allow to dry completely before adding candy etc to the inside.

Embellishment is:  Fashion Gold AC-0292 and Fashion Silver AC-0293

Adhesives:   Craft Glue AD-0111  and White Liner (used on the ribbon) AD-0001

Dies:   Blooming Details Die DI-0327 and Triangle Treat Die DI-0458

Flowers:  Meadow Flowers AC-0406 and Cottage Flowers AC-0405

Triangle Treat Box Die Set Can Make The Cutest Piece of Cake - Fun Stampers Journey Products

The Triangle Treat Box DI-0458 makes a darling box for party favors.  But did you also realize you can make it to look like a piece of card!   How wonderful would like be for wedding favors.   The finished piece measures 3 1/2 x 2 x 3 inches.

Today I will share with you some of my photos of the cake piece.   Then hopefully in the next couple of days I will be able to share some tips on how to put it together.   It's easy to do with our craft glue gun.  

NOTE:   It is supposed to work with the smaller machine (Platinum 6 that comes out end of August and the Amaze Machine).   With those machines it will be a tight fit.   I used my Platinum machine and angled the die.   Each slice will end up using a full sheet of 8 1/2 x 11 inches card stock.

If you are very careful, you can fold a 

1.69 ounce bag of M&Ms in the slice and

close the lid.
