One final sneak peek:

Making this card brought smiles to my day.  It is just bright and cheerful.   Lots of new products used in the making of it too:   Let's Twist Stamp Set, Slice of Life Prints, and Slice-Fetti.

I attached the Slice-Fetti to the card by covering a rectangle of card stock with Journey Glaze.  While still wet, I sprinkle LOTS of the Slice-Fetti over the glaze.   Allowed to dry and shook off the excess.   Look closely at tall the details in the tiny pieces.   Such a fun product to work with.  With tweezers you could apply them individually to a project.   I also used White Liner (double sided tape) to adhere Vintage Lace to the card stock.

Fun Stampers Journey Bloom Box June 2016

Journey Girl is well made, beautifully detailed, and a great gift for yourself or for someone else on a special occasion.  We have 2 sizes in the round locket (large and small), a new Bloom Catcher (cylinder style) and also have a new Tower Locket that is rectangle in shape.   The There are two different lengths of diamond cut link chains available:  16.5" and 27.5".    Many charms, solid background plates, accent background plates, and domed plates are available.  Each locket, plate, and accent plate comes in a turquoise bag (shown in photos).  Perfect for gift giving.

My photo doesn't do this justice.   It is really beautiful and full of sparkle. There are 3 colors of tower plates to choose from (white, licorice, and apple) along with seven design tower plates.

My Review:   I have to admit I had been a bit leery of purchasing items in our Journey Girl Jewelry line.  I had never seen it in person prior to one of my customers buying a locket with charms and a chain.  After going to convention, seeing more of the line in person (and yes, even purchasing a few pieces) I am sold on it. It is well made and so easy to put together.   I can highly recommend our Journey Girl Collection.  Perfect for self-expression or a gift for any occasion.   You won't be disappointed in these pieces.   Each piece is sold separately so that you can create the perfect item for you or for the person you are gifting this too.

Jukebox Baby Artist Trading Stamp (ATS) and PanPastels

Sneak Peek July 2016 Fun Stampers Journey Bloom Box

It's feels like a special occasion when my Fun Stampers Journey Bloom Box arrives each month.   It is filled with wonderful surprises and loaded with quality product like a brand new stamp set and four kitted cards to make using that stamp set.   The card kits come with basically everything you need to make the cards except for adhesive and any types of ink required (ink pad, re-inkers. silks).   It also has a booklet in the box with step by step directions and also a photo of the finished card.

PanPastels - My First Project Using Them And a Sneak Peek

Here's my first creation using the new PanPastels from Fund Stampers Journey.  Did you notice the new Artist Trading Stamp:  Life Music AT-0180

For my card base I used the Falling Petals Stencil and the Confectionary Days PanPastels.   Using a sponge, I alternated colors on the stencil.  

On the background piece for the Music Life ATS, I sponged the PanPastels directly onto the cardstock to give contrasting looks to the card's backgrounds.  

 

NOTE:  I did find that with the stencil, there was a tendency for the chalk to come off on my fingers when handling that design.   With a stencil on smooth card stock, the PanPastels don't work into the grain/tooth of the paper because it is smooth.   When applying directly to the paper with no layer (like a stencil), the Pan Pastels grab the grain/tooth well and there is little or none coming off on your fingers when handling.   A fixative (we do not sell any type) could be used if you wanted.  Please do not use hairspray --- it may work, but can cause your creation to yellow in time.

 

Extra Note:  With stencils, a mixed media product like Journey Gesso (JM-0072) or Journey Modeling Paste (JM-0073) would be great.  Using a spatula go over the stencil that has been placed on your card base.  Smooth out, remove and clean stencil.  Once paste is dry (quick drying is my understanding) then use the PanPastels on it.   Gives texture and dimension to your design.  I just ordered both the Gesso and the Paste.   Will be trying them soon.

 

My Review:   After using the PanPastels the last few days with testing and creating cards, I really LOVE THEM!!!!   No regrets on this purchase.  I think they are very versatile, easy to use, not messy and the outcome is beautiful.  I still have lots to learn about them, but feel they would be a good product even for a beginning crafter.   So nice that the sets have a 5 piece Sofft Tool Set included.

Sneak Peek: Fun Stampers Journey PanPastels

One of the biggest advantages to going to Celebrate You - Fun Stampers Journey Convention 2016 is that not only did we get the opportunity to see SNEAK PEEKS of new products, but we also offered the opportunity to purchase some of these wonderful products.  When they offered us the PanPastels for sale, I "had to have them".  

Part of our new 2016 - 2017 Fun Stampers Journey Inspiration Book and Catalog products are PanPastels.   Customers may order them as of July 1, 2016.  "PanPastel Colors are professional artists’ quality soft pastel colors packed in a unique pan format (cake-like). The special qualities of PanPastel Colors mean that artists can blend and apply dry color like fluid paint for the first time." (quote from Pan Pastel).  These are also erasable - so it easy to fix if you go outside of a line or want to create your own unique design.    Easy to use with sponge or "Sofft Tools".  To erase, any eraser will work but you want to use one that will not leave the color of the eraser on your artwork.  Personally, I am using a white eraser.  

All of our sets come with a palette with cover, seven PanPastels), and a five piece tool kit.   Journey Colorless Blender, Journey Brush Gold PanPastel, Journey Brush Silver PanPastel, and the 8 piece Journey Sofft Tools are purchased individually.

I will show you photos of some of the cards I created using them soon.   I found them easy to use.  They cover extremely well.  It just takes a little to go a long way too.   

Tip:  If you see dust forming in the pans it is because you are over applying the product to the sponge or tool.  It only takes a swipe or two to have enough to work with.

One of the most amazing things about using these is that you can wipe off the sponge on a paper towel in between color changes.  No need to switch out the sponge or wash it until completely done.   So easy and convenient. 

I think they would be an awesome gift too for anyone that is into crafting, chalk/pastels painting, mixed media.   Very versatile product.   We saw it demonstrated using mixed media, stencils, sponges, and the Sofft Tools.

Celebrate You - Fun Stampers Journey Convention 2016 Card Swaps

Since we decided to attend the Fun Stampers Journey Convention slightly last minute I didn't have time to create any card swaps.   I was truly touched by the number of people that gave me samples  of their card swaps so that I would have them too.

Some of the swaps were specific themes, some were general, and some were Coaches making samples to share with others not as part of an organized group.
